This is because the laser-cut metal pieces had to be welded together in a way that leaves no evidence of the welds. The profile of the silver semi-flush, made of wrought iron in a mix of contemporary silver leaf and painted contemporary silver finishes, was inspired by a compass. The rod on this fixture can be extended to make it hang farther away from the ceiling.
